After completing the Air Brake Course you will still need to write the Air Brakes written test, which is 25 multiple choice questions, before you can get an Air Brake Endorsement on your B.C. Drivers License.
ICBC does not allow Driving Schools to administer the Air Brakes written test. You need to write this test at ICBC, selected ServiceBC locations or a designated ICBC agent.
Here are some Vancouver Island locations at which you can write the Air Brakes written test:
The Ladysmith Credit Union Insurance office at 330 1st Avenue in downtown Ladysmith is an ICBC approved Driver Licensing Services agency. It offers the written Air Brakes Knowledge Test required for the Code 15 Air Brake Endorsement.
In Nanaimo, you can write the Air Brakes Knowledge Test at the ICBC Driver Licensing office, 6475 Metral Drive (near Woodgrove Mall) or the ServiceBC office at 460 Selby Street in downtown Nanaimo.
